Alberte Bernier is a visual artist who lives in New York City. Painting, to her, represents a profound source of freedom as well as a desire to convey human emotion and fantasy. She works in var- ious mediums: oil, acrylic, charcoal, textile, mixed media and she incorporates found objects gathered from various landscapes into her work. Alberte holds a BA from City College, an MA from New York University. She studied painting at the Art Students League and also with the gifted art teacher Edla Cusick. Alberte is a member of Harlem Arts Alliance and is an artist in resi- dence at Chashama. She has exhibited at the Jadite Gallery, NYC, the New York State Museum, Albany, the Art Center of Northern New Jersey, Scope, NY and CaFA Fair, Barbados. Alberte has traveled to numerous countries for cultural research including Canada, China, England, India, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Switzerland and Vietnam. She was recently featured in singer-composer Tecla Esposito’s artful fantasy music video entitled “Fake Tears”.
