Ghislaine Sabiti is an interdisciplinary painter, costume design and art educator Congolese-born American artist who was raised on the outskirts of Paris, France and based in New York. Ghislaine was introduced to art at a very young age. At twelve years old she studied fine art at Atelier Chantier du Coq and graduated with honors in fashion design from Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris, France and study graphic design at La cite Collegiale, Ottawa, Canada. She highlights the technical form used in both Congolese and European arts, which stress form and color and she create mixed media with costume sculpture, painting, and drawing. Her work has been exhibited and commission nationally and internationally in France and the USA in numerous group exhibitions and solo show. Her work was showcased in solo exhibitions in New York (2013-2014 ‘’Three Seasons In Congo ‘’at the Rio Gallery II in New York and at the Leonard J. Hansen Art Gallery, Englewood, NJ and ‘’Invisible Molili’’ 2015 at the Rio Gallery III in New York). Including group exhibition, galleries such as Westfield State University Arno Marie Gallery (Westfield, Massachusetts), shapeshifter lab, Harlem School of the Arts, Brooklyn Film and Art Festival and Small Space Fest( Las Vegas, Nevada). Ghislaine Nominated by Chashama for an artist residency at the Pocantico Center/Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Jamaica Center and Learning and Commission for the Lexington Hotel, New York.
