Bruce Campbell
Profile

About

While diverse in form and material, Bruce Campbell’s works arise from a conceptual process that values the primacy of language as an affective material itself. His constructed phrases are part diary excerpts, part socio-political yearnings that are paired with materials and forms that reinforce linguistic content. His work has been exhibited in solo shows at Fountain Studios (Brooklyn), Abington Art Center, Vox Populi, and Rebekah Templeton Contemporary Art (all Philadelphia, PA). Notable venues exhibiting Campbell’s work within group shows include the Arlington Museum of Art (TX), the Salt Lake Art Center (UT), Scope NYC 2013, and Tate Modern (London, UK). Campbell has received a DeGolyer Award from the Dallas Museum of Art and was an Artist Resident at Art Farm (NE). He received his MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute.
