Suzanne T. Meehan received her MFA from Brooklyn College and her BFA from the California College of the Arts in Oakland California. Meehan currently works primarily in two dimensional media. Described by some as inscapes or meditations on landscape, Meehans drawings and paintings are focused on gesture, markmaking and walking the line between figuration and abstraction. Meehans work has been shown in the Bay Area and in NYC at the Painting Center and as part of the PS1 Summer Celebration. She was awarded the Shaw Award and the Graduate Teaching Assistantship and a CAA 911 fellowship. Meehan has taught at Brooklyn College, Nassau Community College and for Lincoln Center Institute and Symphony Space. Recently she participated in GoBrooklyn and in CurateNYC. She is currently a resident of Chashama and a resident of Brooklyn.
